“We always give thanks to God for all of you and mention you in our prayers, constantly remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” - I Thessalonians 1: 2-3
Generations of St. John’s Lutheran Church members have made it possible to worship amidst the elegant beauty of our sanctuary, to enjoy the rebuilt organ, and to appreciate the acoustical achievement that allows music to fill our hearts with joy. And add to that list: Oehler Hall, the Gedestad Kitchen, the Romeis Library, the refurbished rooms, the larger elevator, and the knowledge that our building is safer and more accessible than ever before.
To keep us on our journey together, we seek to make payments of $73,224 per month on our mortgage and to significantly reduce our debt over three years, all without impacting the ministries and services St. John’s already provides.
How can you be a part of this journey?
Pray faithfully. Seek God’s company in prayer.
Live hopefully. God’s wisdom is open to all.
Love generously. Come to the Lord with an obedient heart, and join in the love of Christ.
Offer alleluias. Praise God for all the blessings in your life – and those yet to come.
In 1912, when the church building was constructed, there was a $12,000 debt left after the official dedication. Five years later, at the congregation’s 50th anniversary celebration, it was announced that the debt had been liquidated. God has always provided, and God will continue to provide.
Our journey continues. And as it does, remember the words of King David: “Don’t be afraid by the size of the task. Be strong and courageous and get to work, for the Lord my God is with you and will not forsake you. God will see to it that everything is finished correctly.”
