Thanksgiving Day Worship
Begin your day of Thanksgiving offering thanks to God for our abundant blessings. The Thanksgiving Day worship service is at 10 am, Thursday, November 27.

Christmas Open House
The Sorensens invite the congregation to the 10th Annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 7 from 2-5pm. This congregational tradition is a great way to begin the Advent season meeting new friends from the congregation. Pastor Scot, Kathy and Kai look forward to seeing you on December 7. The Sorensens live at 5961 13th Street in the South Land Park neighborhood. Maps will be available in the narthex.

Christmas Gifts for Children
Again this Christmas season, a “Gift Tree” will be located in the narthex. The tree will be up by Wednesday, November 26 and decorated with “gift-tag ornaments.” Each tag will give a child’s age and gender, for example, “Girl – age 7-8.” You are invited to take an ornament home with you and bring back a gift item that matches the tag. The recipient for this year’s gifts will be the clients served by Francis House. Gifts can be toys, games or outerwear (jackets, hats, gloves). Please return the gifts no later than 10am on Monday, December 15.

Christmas Gift for the Christ Child
As St. John’s has done for Christmas 2006 and 2007, our special Christmas Offering is designated to the Secondary School Dormitory project in Rukira, Rwanda. Through the generosity of St. John’s, and in partnership with our sister parish in Rukira, we have completed the first 160 bed dormitory at the public secondary school for the boys of Rukira. The dream is to collect gifts over the next few years and partner with the Rukira parish in building a girls dormitory, too. Details about this giving opportunity and a special Christmas Offering Envelope will be mailed in early December.
