The Refuge is an "All Ages Music Venue" that is run by youth and adult volunteers from St. John's. The Refuge strives to be a safe place for youth to listen to and play live music.
For more information about this ministry, concert dates, or if you are interested in playing at the Refuge, visit us on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.
The Refuge, our all-ages music venue at St. John’s, was host to
an amazing project last summer.
Music promoter Jerry Perry and filmmaker Jim Bailey partnered
with The Refuge team, including St. John’s sound men Philip
Howard and Anthony Swanson, to produce programs showcasing the
talent of these young people on Access Sacramento.
They taped performances in Goethe Hall in order to produce 12
shows, which are now edited and beginning to air.
You can find them on Comcast Channel 17, Surewest Channel 17, and
U-verse Channel 99.
From its start in 2009, The Refuge has been a place of community
and connection for young people in the Sacramento region.
Our all-ages venue for teenage bands and music fans offers
fledgling musicians the chance to play a professional show and to
gain confidence as artists.
As it begins its fourth year of operation, The Refuge has a rare
chance to showcase the talent of these young people on community
television.
