Welcome to St. John's

St. John’s exists as a place of light, shining through its people -- people filled with the goodness of God’s love.

St. John’s exists as a place where we share the joy of fellowship and where we continue our journey led by God’s grace.

St. John’s exists as a place of worship, of reverence, of inspiration, and its members have embraced our mission of Living God’s Love in the World.

Living God’s Love... from the streets of Sacramento to the genocide-torn homes and churches of Rwanda.

Living God’s Love... from the security of our sanctuary to the Katrina-battered home of Bethlehem Lutheran in New Orleans.

Living God’s Love... from the comfort of our own homes to the Habitat for Humanity building sites in Oak Park and elsewhere in our community.

Living God’s Love... from the meeting places of our WELCA members to St. John’s Shelter and to countries beyond our boundaries.

Living God’s Love... from the spirit-filled and energized youth room of our church to youth conferences and activities in California and beyond.

Living God’s Love... from the generous heart of our congregation to wherever help and prayers will make a difference -- the food banks in Sacramento, the shelters for women and children, the cyclones in Myanmar and Burma, the earthquakes in China and Peru, the floods in the Midwest, the hurricanes in the Gulf Coast, the wildfires in California; wherever God’s love is needed; wherever we can help fight the causes of poverty, hunger, homelessness and for justice, and restore the dignity that has been taken from people’s lives.

Welcome to St. John’s.
