2020 Racial Justice Book Read
Time & Location
About the Event
Last year the Racial Justice Ministry offered a book read in which we read White Fragility, a book that challenged us to understand what it means to be white in the United States and how to engage more meaningfully in discussions around race.
This year we would like to continue a deeper understanding of the socialization of white people in America that leads to an understanding of race that does not match up with the experiences of our brothers and sisters who are not white.
Join us as we dive into Waking Up White and Finding Myself in the Story of Race by Debby Irving!
We will be starting out on Zoom on June 25th, meeting on Thursdays from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. If you are interested in joining us, or learning more, please contact Rebekah Turnbaugh at rebekah.turnbaugh@stjohnslc.org or 916-444-0874. We look forward to learning together!
