Urgent Request for Sponsors

The following request has been shared with us by our neighboring synod, the Southwest California Synod.

Remember the parents who were separated from their children at the border? You may have heard that a number of them were deported without the opportunity to apply for asylum and that the U.S. government has not been able to locate them. A number of them have been located by the legal organization Al Otro Lado but they need sponsors in order to be able to return and be reunified with their children.

A sponsor agrees to provide housing and basic needs for a family for a minimum of six months. Sponsors must be citizens or legal permanent residents. We have support networks and in many cases, homes, ready for these families. However, we need official sponsors.
